Approved by the Korean government, Korean International School in Hong Kong was established in 1988. KIS is a private, coeducational school which provides education for students from Reception to Grade 12. It follows an academic program based on the National curriculum of Korea. Some classes like Korean, Mathematics, Science and Social studies are taught in Korean, but the medium of all the English courses is English taught by native English speaking teachers. Apart from these core subjects, Mandarin is offered as a second foreign language for Grade 1 to Grade 11. The mission statement of the school is “Nurturing capable citizens with sound self-identity and global perspective”.
