There are over 18,000 students from 75 different nationalities in ESF kindergartens, primary, secondary and all-through schools. Island School At ESF Island School we do something different. Our focus is on igniting a passion for learning in every student. We encourage students to problem solve, question and think creatively with new concepts and ideas. Students are encouraged to become resourceful, adaptable and confident learners. Island School students come from all over the world, and central to our international heritage is the celebration and understanding of each others’ cultures. Students learn to care for each other, for the environment and for other people through our rich co-curricular programme and the family atmosphere of the House system. Our academic record is excellent with students going on to many of the foremost universities and colleges in the world. In the senior years students can choose to study International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, IB Careers-related and Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) programmes. Island School prepares students for these qualifications with a broad-based middle school curriculum including the IB Middle Years Programme and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education examinations (IGCSEs) and a wide range of exciting options in our unique Futures curriculum. Our aim is to help students develop a passion for learning in a range of areas, whether it be law or robotics and coding or music production. Our new Borrett Road campus opened in August 2022. The campus facilities are some of the best in Hong Kong including: a fully equipped fitness centre, a double size sports hall, a swimming pool, a senior learning centre, a 600 seat theatre space and maker-spaces, plus breathtaking views of the city.
